About Our Name
Black Shoe – A term coined in the United States Navy in the 1950’s, identified the area in which a sailor was assigned to work. Black Shoe sailors are Surface Warfare sailors, as opposed to an aviation or submariner sailors.
The U. S. Navy Is one of the most technologically advanced organizations in the world and this is where Black Shoe Technology gets its name.
As a company, we embrace the Navy’s core values of Honor – Courage – Commitment. We are also instilled with the Navy’s ideal of “working until the job is done.” There is no quit just because the clock says it’s time; work continues until the job is done.
We believe the Black Shoe Navy is the hardest working, get the job done and do it right the first time, segment of the United Stated Navy and we salute them.
